With a family history in door and window manufacturing dating back to 1985, Steel Door Company was founded to bring innovative design, quality craftsmanship, and a customer-first mentality to the industry.

Founder Sam Hackett grew up around manufacturing. His father, Gary, founded Leamore Windows more than 40 years ago, building one of the largest window manufacturers and installers in the West Midlands. Sam followed in those footsteps, running his own blinds manufacturing business, but he wanted to make his own mark. Recognising that steel was not only incredibly strong but also endlessly customisable and beautiful, Sam set out to take this product to market in the right way, with quality and service at the heart of everything

In 2024, Sam joined forces with Josh, founder of the digital agency Grow.Online. Josh had spent years helping some of the world’s biggest names including Bet365, New Balance, Société Générale, and EU Automation scale their sales and marketing online. Together, they decided to take everything they had learnt from their different worlds and build something that felt missing in this industry: a company that simply does things properly.

Josh’s own experience as a homeowner shaped this approach.
